Hello!
Hope you had a great Decemberish Holiday time!
We wanted to fill you in on the latest developments with Awful Fantasy: The Card Game.
Recently, we made some tough calls in terms of how our game will be produced and decided that we will be going with Panda Game Manufacturing in China. We know we said we'd be using Ludo Fact, which is a fantastic company that produces amazing games. It was a difficult decision, but we have faith Panda Game Manufacturing will produce a great quality game and we'll be able to deliver it without a hitch!
So, in the recent weeks, we have been working with Panda to get this game printed and sent out as soon as possible. However, due to the holidays and so forth, this process has taken a bit of time to get started.
We are currently in the Design Verification phase of printing.
We sent the print files to be approved last week and have received the first round of corrections from Panda over the weekend. We sent those corrections off last night.
Once the files are approved, they will make a digital proof for us to verify, and once that is approved, we can move on to the next step: Pre-production.
China celebrates their Chinese New Year at the end of January through about the second week of February. During these times, some parts of Panda Manufacturing will not be functioning due to people being on vacation. Once they are back at work, production can resume. Here is the current estimated timeline Panda Manufacturing has kindly provided us:
Design Verification: Feb 12
Pre-production: Feb 26
Mass production: Apr 24
Assembly: Apr 30
Fulfillment: May

Hello!
I thought you would like to know that Conor, the all-powerful, has finished the art for Awful Fantasy: The Card Game!
Every card has been completed and we will be taking this week to make sure everything is correct and prep the art for the printer. We are also going to be talking with our fulfillment company to make sure everything is in order for hassle-free shipment to you. We think our initial estimate of a March shipment is still looking good, so we're crossing our fingers that everything goes smoothly.
We think you will be extremely happy with the game when you get it. The thing is looking beautiful. Conor has done an absolutely AMAZING job with the art and we're incredibly grateful to have him as a part of our team.

Visions of a Thousand Eyes
We also wanted to tell you about a very cool KS project going on now that is a fantasy-themed artbook, designed in collaboration with 40+ international artists. The project is called ‘Visions of a Thousand Eyes’ and the work found within is astounding! Give it a gander!

Hello,
We just wanted to tell you that in the next couple weeks, Conor will be finished with all of the art for the game and we will be sending the files to the printer. Once the files have been submitted, there will be about a 2-3 month time period for the games to be printed and be ready to be shipped out. During that 2-3 month period, we will be getting everything in order with the fulfillment center for the games to be shipped when they are done being printed.
Our next update, later this month, will be to let you know that all art has been completed and that the files are off to the printer! In that update, we will be giving you a deadline to complete/update your Backerkit survey so that we send the game to the correct address. Once that deadline arrives, you will be unable to change your address.

Figured we'd give you a little update as to where the game is now!
Art is still rolling in but Conor has done quite a lot! We can now officially say ALL Fantasy cards and ALL Awful cards have been completed! Now, Conor only has author cards to complete.
If you want to update your address at any time, you should be able to do so through Backerkit's website. And we will send out a reminder to make sure your address is up-to-date when the game is getting close to shipping.

Our friends at Megacon Games currently have a Kickstarter running right now for a funny, family-friendly card game called Dumpster Diver.

Mid-art update

Hi! Sorry we haven't posted much for a while, but really there hasn't much to report. We are in the illustrating phase and we're just letting Conor work his magic so the game can go to print. With that said, we wanted to go ahead and share an update telling you how everything is coming along.
Illustrations:
We are a little past the halfway-point with the game's art completion. Since the Kickstarter has ended, Conor has completed 32 card illustrations (plus 6 before/during the Kickstarter) and 33 illustrations are left. Here's a breakdown of art completed:
Fantasy Cards: 30/32 Awful Cards: 1/11 Author Cards: 7/28
Total: 38/71
We expect to be fully finished with the art by the beginning of December or even the end of November. Then, we can send the design files to our manufacturer. At that point, it may be about 14 weeks for the games to be printed and ready to ship. That means we're looking at around March for a ship date, just as we predicted. Man, we're good at predicting.

Manufacturing:
As for manufacturing, we have decided to go with a manufacturer called Ludo Fact. They are a printer based in Germany and have a great reputation for high-quality work. Recently, they purchased Jessup Paper Box (a manufacturing location based in Lafayette, IN) to help with game production within the United States. Luckily for us, that's an hour away from where most of us currently live (not to mention the city in which we were all born). That means we may be able to record some behind-the-scenes footage of the manufacturing process when the time comes.
